2022 Annual Emerging Financial Markets and Policy Conference
Sri Lanka Finance Association

June 17, 2022
Virtual Conference

Conference Theme: Impact of Digital Transformation on Finance

Digitization is transforming the economy and the world of finance in significant and unimaginable ways. Digital transformation is revolutionizing the delivery and consumption of financial services and payment systems. Some of the visible trends include digital banking, digital payments, trading and wealth management, and cryptocurrencies. Financial digitization presents enormous efficiencies and advantages as well as costs and challenges. Unregulated digital transformation poses significant threats to the stability of financial systems. We discuss how digital transformation impacts financial services, payment systems, and financial and macroeconomic stability, as well as the regulatory and other challenges faced by the central banks, securities markets, and other financial regulators as a result of the digitization of finance.
