Recent economic and financial disruptions due to the Coivd-19 pandemic have created an extremely challenging environment particularly for the governments and policy makers on how to respond to such disruptions and maintain resilience in their economies and financial systems. International trade and financial flows have almost reached a standstill. In this context, the Annual Conference on Emerging Financial Markets and Policies (EFMP 2021) with the theme of ‘Challenges and Opportunities Facing Emerging Financial Markets’ aims to provide a platform for academics, practitioners and policy makers for collaborating and for sharing their research and contemporary perspectives on the issues pertaining to finance in the context of Sri Lanka and emerging and frontier economies.

The 2021 inaugural Emerging Financial Markets & Policy Conference organized by the Sri Lanka Finance Association will be held on June 26, 2021 as a virtual conference.

The conference welcomes research papers in all areas of finance focusing on emerging markets and economies. The areas of interest include Corporate Finance, Investments, Financial Markets, Institutions and Banking, International Finance, Behavioral Finance, Corporate Governance, Risk Management and Insurance, Public Finance, Financial and Monetary Economics, Economic and Financial Policy, Research Methods in Finance and related disciplines and special topics such as Microfinance, Islamic Finance, Financial Sector Development and Financial Regulation.

Papers are invited from all researchers including academics, policy makers as well as graduate students from Sri Lanka and worldwide, particularly from emerging and frontier economies.

You are invited to submit your research papers (full papers or extended abstract) to be considered for presentation at the conference.

The authors have the option to publish the papers in print and electronic conference proceedings. In addition, authors have the opportunity to submit the papers accepted for the conference for publication in the to the Journal of Emerging Financial Markets and Policy (JEFMP) which is a peer-reviewed international journal dedicated to emerging and frontier financial markets and economies.
